How much do custom wrought iron driveway gates cost?

How long does the process take?
Most driveway gate projects take 8-12 weeks from site visit to installation. That includes design, council approvals (if required), fabrication, galvanising and finishing. Complex heritage projects may take longer.
Can you automate existing gates?
Sometimes. If the existing gates are structurally sound and properly hung, we can often retrofit automation. If they're sagging, rusting, or poorly constructed, it's usually better to start fresh with gates designed for automation from the beginning.

Swing gates or sliding gates. Which is better?
It depends on your driveway. Swing gates need space behind the gate line to open. If your driveway slopes up from the street, or you have limited space, sliding gates are usually better. We'll assess your site and recommend the best option during the site visit.

No. We hot-dip galvanise every gate before applying any paint or finish. This creates a zinc coating that protects from the inside out. Even if the surface gets scratched, the zinc layer underneath keeps protecting the iron. It's the same process used on most harbour infrastructure and is essential for coastal properties.
How do wrought iron gates compare to aluminium?
Aluminium is lighter, weaker and more expensive. Wrought iron is heavier, stronger, and looks substantially better. Aluminium gates can dent and flex easily. Wrought iron gates are solid and permanent. For properties in premium suburbs, the difference is obvious.
